My User Groups

A user group is where the access rights for users belonging to that group are defined. It is possible, at the level of a user group, to restrict the rights on the following entities:

• Applications and modules: accessible or not. Read only or read/write
• Assets: this allows you to limit the Assets to which users have access
• Dashboards: limit the dashboards that users can access

It is possible to give manage access rights hierarchically. A user group can have “subgroups” (“child” groups). In this case, the users of this group will be able to define and manage the access rights of “child” groups of this “parent” group.

The process, for the creation of new users who should have limited access rights on the account, is:

• Create a user group
• Define the access rights
• Then create a user (in My Users)and assign it to this user group

If you assign the My User Groups module to another User Group, with “write” (green pen icon) access right on My User Group, all users belonging to this user group will be able to create “sub” User Groups. They inherit from the access rights, and won't be able to assign more rights than the ones that they have themselves.
