Empower Your Dashboard: Send downlinks to your devices using the command widget

Congratulations on mastering the creation of saved downlinks! Now, let's elevate your skills and integrate these downlinks into your dashboard, enabling users to control devices effortlessly. Imagine switching lights ON/OFF or activating an alarm with just a click!

In this guide, we'll walk you through using the command widget to achieve this seamless integration.

1. Identify Your Asset: Ensure you have an asset with a device that supports saved downlinks. This is the foundation for adding command widgets to your dashboard.
2. Access the Dashboard: Navigate to your dashboard where you want to add the command widget.
3. Add a Command
   • In the datasource panel of your dashboard, select the option to add a new command.
   • Give your command a meaningful name that reflects its function (e.g., “Switch Light ON”).
   • Choose the asset associated with the device you want to control.
   • Select the alias that points to your specific device.
   • From the list of saved downlinks, pick the one you want to use for this command.
   • Customize the command by selecting an icon and color that visually represent the action.
4. Save Your Configuration: Once you've added all the necessary commands, save your configuration to apply the changes.

Now that your command widget is set up, it's time to test it:

• Click on the control in your dashboard. The saved downlink will be sent to your device.
• If your device is a LoRaWAN device with a Class C profile such as LT-22222-L LoRa I/O Controller from Dragino, the command will be executed immediately.

With this setup, you can control various actions such as:

• Switching lights ON/OFF
• Activating alarms
• Opening/closing gates
